Official Incident Report
Sausagegate
An ongoing local procurement operation involving one Cockapoo, one village café and a suspiciously reliable supply of sausage.
Incident Summary
What began as a small act of kindness by a local café has developed into a fully operational sausage procurement system. The Nook occasionally provided CEO Enzo with a small piece of sausage during his walks. Enzo remembered. He has since concluded that sausage is now a contractual obligation.

Background
The Nook is a small café in the village which has developed an excellent working relationship with management. During previous visits, Enzo was provided with occasional pieces of sausage. This seemingly harmless gesture was immediately logged by the CEO as an established business arrangement.
Any walk passing within reasonable distance of The Nook is now subject to immediate rerouting. Enzo will pull staff toward the premises, approach the entrance with confidence and await distribution of his expected payment.
Timeline of Events
- Incident One — The Closed-Door Protest During a routine walk, Enzo directed Dad toward The Nook. Unfortunately, the café was closed. This information was apparently irrelevant. Enzo positioned himself outside the door and waited patiently for somebody to correct the obvious administrative error and provide his sausage. No sausage was obtained. Morale was low.
- Incident Two — Unauthorised Entry On a later walk, The Nook had not yet officially opened, although staff were inside preparing for the day. Enzo interpreted the presence of humans as sufficient authorisation to enter and casually wandered inside. No invitation was requested. No appointment had been scheduled. His intentions were immediately clear. He was there for sausage.
- Supply Chain Failure Café owner Mel was forced to deliver devastating news: the café had run out of sausage. Mel personally apologised to Enzo for the breakdown in supply. The apology was accepted. Reluctantly. No disciplinary action was taken against the café at this stage.
- Incident Three — Operation Successful During a subsequent visit, The Nook was open. Mel was present. Most importantly, sausage was available. Before payment could be issued, Enzo was required to complete several basic compliance procedures. He sat. He gave Mel his paw. The transaction was approved.
- Final Distribution Mel personally hand-delivered four pieces of sausage. Four. The CEO left the premises satisfied and with renewed confidence in the organisation's ability to meet future contractual obligations. Sausagegate was temporarily resolved.
Evidence Collected
- Repeated attempts to redirect walks toward The Nook.
- Documented waiting outside the café while closed.
- Unauthorised entry before official opening hours.
- Direct apology from café management following sausage shortage.
- Successful completion of sit-and-paw compliance procedures.
- Four pieces of sausage successfully acquired.
- Multiple staff sandwich purchases linked to Enzo-led café visits.
Financial Impact Assessment
It should be noted that The Nook does not appear to be suffering financially as a result of this arrangement. Quite the opposite.
Because Enzo regularly insists on visiting the café, his staff have purchased considerably more sandwiches than they otherwise might have done.
The Nook supplies sausage.
Enzo supplies customers.
Everyone wins.
Investigation Findings
Following a thorough review, investigators concluded that Enzo possesses excellent long-term memory where food-related locations are concerned. He has also demonstrated a complete disregard for café opening hours, strong confidence in local supplier relationships and an impressive ability to convert complimentary sausage into additional sandwich revenue.
Management considers the current arrangement mutually beneficial. The café gains customers. Enzo gains sausage. Staff gain sandwiches. Resistance is therefore considered both unnecessary and unlikely to succeed.
Official Case Outcome
🟠 Case Remains Open
Sausagegate cannot technically be considered closed. While the original three incidents have been resolved, Enzo continues to regard The Nook as an official sausage distribution centre. Future walks within the café's operational radius should therefore allow additional time for unscheduled visits, sausage availability checks, paw-based negotiations and staff sandwich purchases.
The CEO has officially established his preferred supplier.
